Azerbaijan imported nearly 33 tons of gold from 23 countries

In the period from January to June 2025, gold worth USD 3 billion 157.6 million, totaling 32,919.1 kilograms, was imported into Azerbaijan.

Axar.az informs, citing APА, calculations based on the report of the State Statistical Committee.

The average import price per kilogram of gold brought into the country during the reporting period amounted to USD 95,920.2.

Note that in the first 6 months of this year, gold production in Azerbaijan totaled 1,600.7 kg. During this period, unprocessed gold worth 144 million 13 thousand US dollars, weighing 1,960 kg, was exported from Azerbaijan to Switzerland. The average export price per kilogram of this product was USD 73,475.7.

It should be added that gold imports into the country refer to semi-processed forms of gold such as bars, wire and profiles, plates, sheets, strips or ribbons with a thickness of more than 0.15 mm, regardless of the base on which they are made.
