Garegin II has broken the vow of celibacy he voluntarily took and has a child.

Axar.az informs this was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Facebook.

"This is a fact, and if Garegin II tries to deny it, I will provide proof in the appropriate format.
According to this, and in line with the Constitution of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Garegin II could not have been a bishop, archbishop, or be elected and serve as Catholicos. Ktrij Nersisyan must vacate the Holy See.

As a faithful follower of the Armenian Apostolic Church, and as someone who deeply values our spiritual heritage — every relic, image, and stone — I declare that the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church must elect a new Catholicos, whose moral integrity will be verified and confirmed prior to the election.

I call on all faithful members of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church to unite, in love and Christian spirit, around the agenda of peacefully vacating the Holy See and electing a truly sacred spiritual leader as the Catholicos of All Armenians," he noted.
