On the night of June 9, units of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, together with other components of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, carried out strikes on the Savaslyka airfield located in the Nizhny Novgorod region of the Russian Federation.

It was reported that Russian fighters, including MiG-31 and Su-30/34, were destroyed as a result of the strikes.
