The Chairperson-in-Office of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), Finland’s Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen, will visit Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan on June 10–11.
Axar.az reports the information was released by Finland’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
This will be Valtonen’s first visit to Central Asia in her role as OSCE Chairperson-in-Office.
The aim of the visit is to strengthen the OSCE’s partnership in the region.
“During the visit, Finland’s Foreign Minister will hold meetings with the leadership of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, as well as with representatives of OSCE field missions and civil society. Valtonen will also visit a university in Tashkent and deliver a speech to students,” the statement from the Ministry noted.
