An article about Azerbaijan's military-industrial complex has been published on the Belgian English-language website Army Recognition.
Axar.az reports that according to the article, Azerbaijan produces 700 rounds of ammunition, modern firearms, unmanned aerial vehicles, and armored vehicles, and exports them to more than 10 countries.
At the same time, Azerbaijan ranks 64th in the Global Firepover ranking table, which includes 138 countries. It was noted that 112 products were produced at the plants of the Ministry of Defense Industry of Azerbaijan in 2019, as well as 9 products were recommended to start production due to the completion of tests.
The site currently has 23 production facilities of the ministry, including anti-armor "Istiglal" and "Mubariz", 7.62 mm "Predator", "Yagluzag", "Lightning" sniper rifles, as well as UP 7.62, HP 7.6. machine guns, "Gurza" armored patrol car, TR-107 and TRB-107 surface-to-air missiles, "Zarba" unmanned suicide bombers were produced.
It was stated that Azerbaijan started exporting weapons in 2013. These countries include NATO members, the United States, Turkey, Russia, Belarus, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Pakistan and others. In 2016, the country sold a total of $ 120 million worth of weapons.
The article says that the United States bought weapons from Azerbaijan. Thus, the agreement on the purchase of Azerbaijani weapons was reached in 2013 during an arms exhibition in Jordan. Under the agreement, Azerbaijan exports mortars, grenades and a number of optical devices to the United States.
