Bayramov and Lavrov discuss regional issues

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held a phone call to discuss regional and bilateral issues.

Axar.az the conversation focused on the security situation following the Iran-Israel confrontation, as well as ongoing regional and bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Lavrov thanked the Azerbaijani leadership and relevant agencies for assisting in the evacuation of Russian citizens from Iran, including several figures from the arts community.

The parties expressed serious concern about the security situation in the region as a result of the Israeli-Iranian conflict, and stressed the importance of resolving the conflict through diplomatic means.

They also exchanged views on other matters of mutual interest.
