The Trump administration has made a number of major concessions to China in an attempt to prevent an escalation of tensions amid trade talks and a possible summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Axar.az reports, citing sources in the Washington Post.

According to the source, in accordance with Beijing's request, Washington not only postponed the visit of Taiwan's Defense Minister Gu Lixin in June, but also canceled the planned visit of Taiwan's Chief Executive Lai Tsing-ning to the United States in August.

It should be noted that the Taiwanese leader planned to stay in New York and Dallas during his working trip to Latin America.
