The coronavirus pandemic has led to a worse economic crisis than the 2008 global financial crisis.
Axar.az reports that the statement came from the head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Kristalina Georgieva.
He said that so far 90 countries have applied for assistance from the fund, and the IMF is ready to use $ 1 trillion in this way.
Georgieva added that the most vulnerable countries against coronavirus are developing and developed economies:
"We have never encountered such a situation in terms of urgent financial demand. We have never seen the world economy come to a standstill in the history of the IMF."
