The amount of blood supplied in Azerbaijan has increased in comparison with previous years.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Health (MH), with the support of MH in the blood donation campaign held across the country in 2015, 36 tons 597 liters of blood was supplied. In 2014 this figure amounted to 36 tons 193 liters.

There is an increasing number of voluntary blood donors who participate in blood donation campaigns. 75184 people participated in the blood donation campaign in 2015, however, this figure was 72697 in 2014.

The majority of donor blood is collected in the Central Blood Bank, National Cancer Center and the Clinical Medical Centre.
