The Sars-Cov-2 virus is gradually becoming endemic, which has not yet happened, but the World Health Organization (WHO) is considering various options for the development of the condition.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from Maria Van Kerhove, head of the WHO technical team for emergencies.

"Endemic disease is a disease that is widespread in a region and is always present in society. Infections that are always present in a certain area can also be endemic.

The virus is on the way to becoming endemic. This is not even controversial. But now we are in the middle of this pandemic, and the level of spread, its intensity, as well as the level of impact of new infections on basic medical services, the level of hospitalization is very important. Thus, the virus is on the way to becoming endemic, but we have not yet reached it," said the WHO official.
