Armenia can’t trade land without referendum

According to Armenian law, a territorial exchange with Azerbaijan cannot take place without a referendum.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by the Chairman of the Armenian Parliament’s Foreign Relations Committee, Sargis Khandanyan.

“The issue should be considered within the framework of the border delimitation process, and it will be resolved at a certain stage.

If, under any scenario, the parties decide to carry out a territorial exchange based on the legislation of the Republic of Armenia, it cannot be implemented without a referendum,” Khandanyan said.
