Ilham Aliyev: Zangezur corridor to enhance transit

I am confident that the agreements reached in Washington in August this year to connect the main part of Azerbaijan with its Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic will contribute to expanding transit opportunities for international transportation. The construction of the Zangezur corridor in Azerbaijan is nearing completion.

Axar.az reports that President Ilham Aliyev made these remarks during his speech at the 7th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia.

“This railway, with a cargo carrying capacity of 15 million tons at the initial stage, will become the main artery of the Middle Corridor,” the head of state added.
