Simonyan says 2026 elections key to peace with Azerbaijan

The issue of peace in the South Caucasus will be decided in Armenia’s upcoming parliamentary elections, Armenian parliament speaker Alen Simonyan said.

Axar.az informs he noted that political forces in the country are divided into two groups: a party of peace and a party of war, which advocates dependence on “global moderators.”

“We must put an end [to the conflict with Azerbaijan] through the 2026 elections, the signing of a final peace treaty, and its ratification. I am confident in our victory,” Simonyan added.
