The French-led campaign to militarize Armenia, which includes new promises of greater military equipment (including lethal and assault weapons), is a cause for concern.

Axar.az reports that this was announced by the press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Aykhan Hajizade, in connection with the EU-Armenia-USA joint conference to be held in Brussels on April 5, 2024.

It was noted that another member of the EU, Greece, recently made statements about deepening military cooperation with Armenia.

"Furthermore, the plans to provide military aid to Armenia within the framework of the European Peace Fund and the information that the meeting to be held on April 5 envisages military components are additional concerns and undermine peace-building efforts in the region.
