18 deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine protested Ruben Vardanyan's nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize.

"We consider it unacceptable and absurd to nominate this person who supports terrorism and separatism, participates in corruption scandals, sponsors Russia's aggression in the post-Soviet territories, for the Nobel Peace Prize. We call on the Nobel Committee to reject the appeal of Vardanyan's henchmen, because it is impossible for a proven criminal to serve the cause of peace, he should be immediately handed over to the law enforcement agencies of Ukraine or NATO countries," the statement said.

It should be noted that Ruben Vardanyan's role in the corruption network in Russia and his leadership of the money laundering pyramid were revealed a few years ago by the International Journalist Project on Organized Crime and Corruption Research (OCCRP) and published in the world's leading magazines.
