Not only in the Caucasus but also in a wider geographical area, the restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and sovereignty has been a major factor. For thirty years, our internationally recognized territory was under occupation by Armenia.

Axar.az reports that President Ilham Aliyev expressed these views during a session titled "Azerbaijan's Role in the New Geopolitical Context" at the International Cernobbio Forum.

The head of state recalled that despite the existence of four resolutions from international organizations, including the UN Security Council, which were to be absolutely implemented, this occupation continued. The President also noted that although the OSCE had established a special group to address this issue, it had achieved zero results over 28 years.
