We will participate in COP29 together with Turkiye's First Lady, Emine Erdoğan.

Axar.az reports that the Chair of the Metropolitan Municipality of Turkiye's Gaziantep province, Fatma Şahin, stated this in an interview with Report.

F. Şahin said that E. Erdoğan places great importance on holding this event, which is of great significance for the entire world, in Azerbaijan:

"Our beautiful brotherhood and unbreakable unity with Azerbaijan is a positive behavior that will be displayed to the whole world. In this regard, we will be together at COP29. In the current situation, COP29 is the biggest remedy in the fight against climate change. Every country will talk about the measures they are implementing in this direction. According to the agreement made in Brazil in 1992, every country is responsible for reducing the emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Emine Erdoğan has played an important role in implementing crucial environmental projects in Turkiye. Her calls on environmental issues to the world have also been appreciated by the UN. Emine Erdoğan has declared that, as Turkiye, we will support brother Azerbaijan at COP29."

The municipality chair also emphasized that Gaziantep is preparing for COP29 in a special way, as it holds a leading position in Turkiye as a green and "smart" city: "As Gaziantep, we will participate in COP29 with our project titled 'the greenest, smartest, and most determined city.' Our serious preparations continue to voice this sensitive issue to the world through brother Azerbaijan.
