U.S. President Donald Trump awarded Iranian referee Alireza Faghani after the final of the FIFA Club World Cup and took a commemorative photo with him.

Axar.az informs that this was reported by international media.

While presenting Faghani’s medal, Trump spoke with him and praised his contributions to the field of sports.

Iranian media, however, published numerous pieces criticizing Faghani’s meeting with Donald Trump, referencing Israeli and U.S. hostility toward Iran and accusing the world-class football referee of “betraying his country.”

It should be noted that 47-year-old Alireza Faghani left Iran in 2018 and moved to Australia.
