Foreign nationals suspected of an assassination attempt on Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro have been detained.

According to the report, the detained individuals include three U.S., two Spanish, and one Czech citizen. They are accused of attempting to destabilize Venezuela by killing Maduro and other high-ranking officials on the orders of Western intelligence services.

Venezuela’s Minister of Interior, Diosdado Cabello, stated that the assassination was planned by the CIA. All detained U.S. citizens are members of the U.S. Navy SEALs.

The U.S. State Department has denied the claim.
