The life of political prisoner Narges Mohammadi, the 2023 Nobel Peace Prize laureate, who is being held in Tehran's Evin prison, is in danger.

Axar.az reports that human rights activists have issued a statement regarding this issue.

It is reported that although a date was set on September 17 for Mohammadi's angiography and heart stent replacement, the prison administration has not permitted her transfer to the hospital.

"Despite the worsening condition of the political prisoner and a letter and referral permission from a specialist doctor to the prison administration, for the second week, Narges Mohammadi has not been allowed to be transferred to the hospital," the statement emphasized.

It should be noted that Narges Mohammadi, born in Zanjan, South Azerbaijan, and a recipient of the 2023 Nobel Peace Prize, has been sentenced to 12 years and 3 months in prison and 154 lashes.
