Nvidia invests $500M in Israeli AI hub

Nvidia is set to invest over $500 million in a new AI research and engineering center at the Mevo Carmel Science and Industry Park near Yokne’am, Israel.

Axar.az, citing Times of Israel, reports that the 10,000-square-meter facility, expected to open in the first half of 2025, will feature cutting-edge AI infrastructure, including Nvidia’s latest Blackwell chips and advanced data processing units developed in Israel. The center will support Nvidia’s R&D efforts, focusing on next-generation networking, software technologies, and CPU design.

Nvidia’s Israel operations are its largest outside the US, employing over 4,500 workers across seven R&D centers. The company recently acquired Israeli startup Run:ai for $700 million and previously bought Mellanox Technologies for $7 billion in 2020. Nvidia also launched Israel-1, the country’s most powerful AI supercomputer, in 2023.
