Iran has most likely supplied Russia with several hundred short-range ballistic missiles. Despite the White House's threatening statements, the U.S. reaction to this event is likely to be delayed.

Axar.az reports that The New York Times has published information on this matter.

According to the report, G7 countries warned in March that they would impose coordinated sanctions on Iran if it transferred missiles to Russia. This warning was reiterated at the NATO summit held in Washington in July.

However, despite the threats, President Joe Biden has many reasons to remain cautious. For instance, the U.S. has been engaging in balanced diplomacy with Iran for months to prevent the war in Gaza from escalating into a regional conflict. Washington does not want to worsen the already strained relations with Tehran, especially against the backdrop of the U.S. elections.
