Azerbaijan and Iran discuss key economic ties in Tehran

Azerbaijan's Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev met with Iran's Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Farzaneh Sadiqi, in Tehran.

Axar.az informs that this information was reported by IRNA.

During the meeting, Sadiqi emphasized that relations with Azerbaijan are very important for Iran.

She proposed that the 16th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Iran Joint Economic Commission be held soon in Tehran: "We have begun the construction of the Rasht-Astara railway, which is considered a turning point in the development of the North-South Corridor. Azerbaijan's cooperation is crucial for the development of this railway infrastructure. Additionally, a plan should be developed to achieve the goal of 15 million tons of cargo transit between the two countries."

It is noteworthy that Mustafayev previously met with Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
