During a meeting in Moscow with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui accused the United States and South Korea of planning a nuclear strike against North Korea.

Axar.az reports that , citing Reuters, while she did not provide any evidence to support her claim, Choe mentioned that there are regular consultations between Washington and Seoul where such plotting allegedly occurs. She warned that the situation on the Korean Peninsula could become "explosive" at any moment and emphasized the need for North Korea to bolster its nuclear arsenal and enhance its readiness for a retaliatory strike if necessary.

Choe also expressed North Korea's commitment to supporting Russia in its war with Ukraine, asserting that Moscow would ultimately prevail.
