Azerbaijan discusses restoration of embassy in Syria

The issue of restoring the Azerbaijani embassy in Syria is being discussed.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Aykhan Hajizade, the head of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement to journalists.

According to him, a delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan is on a visit to Syria.

The Ministry official said that the delegation held a relevant meeting with the Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs of the transitional government:

"Cooperation issues between Azerbaijan and Syria were discussed. As you know, Azerbaijan’s embassy in Syria has not been operational since 2012. Currently, the restoration of the Azerbaijani embassy in Syria is also being discussed during the mentioned meeting."
