Azerbaijan welcomes the announcement of the ceasefire and hostage agreement in Gaza.

Axar.az reports that this was stated in Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) statement regarding the ceasefire reached between Israel and Hamas.

"We hope all parties will respect the agreement and sufferings will be ended. Azerbaijan supports the two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in line with respective UNSC resolutions, and will continue working with the international community towards that goal," the statement noted.

It is worth reminding that yesterday, an agreement was reached between Israel and Hamas regarding the ceasefire. The ceasefire is expected to take effect on January 19.
