Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to meet former U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington, bringing trade concessions and business deals as a "gift" to strengthen ties.

Axar.az, citing Reuters, reports that Modi aims to ease tariff tensions by offering increased purchases of U.S. liquefied natural gas, combat vehicles, and jet engines, along with tariff cuts in multiple sectors.

Trump, who has criticized India's trade policies, seeks stronger cooperation on unauthorized immigration and closer alignment against China.

Modi also hopes for U.S. support regarding Indian billionaire Gautam Adani’s legal troubles. Meanwhile, India's cautious foreign policy and ties with Russia may influence discussions on Ukraine.
