The next meeting of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Portugal was held in Baku.
Axar.az informs that the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has informed about this.
The Azerbaijani delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev, and the Portuguese delegation was headed by Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Helena Malkata.
The meeting discussed the prospects for the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Portugal, and noted the importance of mutual official visits and cooperation within international organizations.
The parties discussed the expansion of economic relations, opportunities for cooperation in the fields of energy, transport, and high technology. They also exchanged views on strategic energy and transport-infrastructure projects implemented in the region at the initiative of Azerbaijan.
The meeting also provided detailed information on the situation in the region during the post-conflict period, the Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization process, the steps taken by our country to ensure lasting peace, existing obstacles in the peace process, as well as large-scale reconstruction work carried out in the liberated territories.
Finally, the parties exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
