Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov received the U.S. delegation led by Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Joshua Huck.
Axar.az reports the information was released by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting covered issues related to bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United States, as well as the current state of the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
The importance of the historic ties between Azerbaijan and the United States, particularly in areas such as energy security and other fields of mutual interest, was highlighted during the meeting. Both sides emphasized the need to further strengthen bilateral relations within the framework of shared interests.
The discussions also covered regional energy projects, plans for alternative energy, prospects for transportation and communication corridors, and opportunities for joint cooperation with Central Asia.
Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov briefed the U.S. side on the post-conflict situation in the region, the current state and prospects of the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as existing obstacles.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on regional issues of mutual interest.
