The address of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to the participants of the international scientific conference on “Islamophobia: Exposing Prejudice and Destroying Stigma” held in Baku on May 26-27 was distributed as a document of the UN General Assembly and the Security Council.

According to the information, the address was submitted to all member states of the UN General Assembly and the UN Security Council as an official document. This fact once again demonstrates that President Ilham Aliyev’s international calls in the fight against Islamophobia and the importance he attaches to the values of tolerance and multiculturalism are highly appreciated worldwide.
In the address, the head of state drew attention to the growing manifestations of Islamophobia and emphasized that this negative trend poses a threat to international peace and security. President Ilham Aliyev said that combating religious intolerance, discrimination, and calls for hatred is possible with joint international efforts.
The recognition of this appeal as a document at the UN level is another manifestation of international support for Azerbaijan's policy based on multiculturalism and religious solidarity.
It should be noted that on May 26-27 of this year, an international scientific conference on "Islamophobia: Exposing Prejudice and Destroying Stigma" was organized by the Baku International Multiculturalism Center, the Center for the Analysis of International Relations, and the Baku Initiative Group.
The foreign partners of the scientific conference dedicated to the 3rd anniversary of the International Day for the Fight against Islamophobia include the G20 Interfaith Forum (IF20), the OIC, ICESCO, the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue (DICID), the Supreme Committee for Human Fraternity, the Council of Muslim Elders, the Central Council of Muslims in Germany, EULEMA - the European Muslim Leaders' Assembly, and the International Muslim Forum.
The international scientific conference was attended by about 200 participants from up to 40 countries - scientists, experts from international organizations, religious figures, and representatives of non-governmental organizations.
