Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan advance Middle Corridor project

In 2022, the "Roadmap for 2022-2027" was signed in Aktau city on the development and operation of the Middle Corridor, which passes through the territories of Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Kazakhstan. The document envisages the synchronous development of the transport and logistics infrastructure of the three countries, optimization of operations, attraction of additional cargo flows, application of a single tariff policy, development of a network of logistics centers, and resolution of other key issues.

Axar.az reports that President Ilham Aliyev said this in an interview with Kazinform.

"One of the important projects in the field of infrastructure is the laying of underwater fiber-optic communication lines between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan along the bottom of the Caspian Sea. The construction contract was signed in Baku in March 2025, and the completion of the work is scheduled for the end of 2026, which will strengthen digital integration," the head of state emphasized.
