The Governor of the Astrakhan Region of the Russian Federation, Igor Babushkin, is on an official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Axar.az reports that as part of the visit, a delegation led by Governor Igor Babushkin visited the Alley of Honor on December 16, respectfully commemorated the memory of the National Leader of our people, Heydar Aliyev, and laid a wreath at his grave.
The guests also commemorated the memory of the prominent ophthalmologist-scientist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva, and laid flowers at her grave.
Then, the “Tomb of Brotherhood” memorial complex and the monument to Hero of the Soviet Union Richard Sorge were visited.
As part of the visit, a delegation led by the Governor of the Astrakhan Region, Igor Yurievich Babushkin, visited the liberated Gubadli district. The guests were accompanied by Vahid Hajiyev, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Jabrayil, Gubadli and Zangilan regions, and Abdin Farzaliyev, Head of the Absheron Region Executive Power.
The delegation members inspected the work carried out in the kindergarten built as a gift from the Astrakhan region in the village of Mahruzlu in Gubadli. It was noted that, as in other territories liberated from occupation, construction work is underway in the Gubadli region. The rebuilt village of Mahruzlu is located 19 kilometers from the regional center. The total designed area of the village is 197 hectares. Construction work is being carried out in stages. 190 individual residential houses are being built in the area at the initial stage, and 70 percent of the work has been completed. The construction of a school building for 264 students and a kindergarten for 80 places continues in the village, and the construction of these facilities is about to be completed at the initial stage.
It was noted that the construction of an 80-seat kindergarten as a gift from the Astrakhan region is a gratifying event and a clear example of the close friendly relations of the neighboring Russian state with Azerbaijan.
Within the framework of the visit, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ali Asadov, received the Governor of the Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation, Igor Babushkin. During the meeting, the fruitful cooperation of the Republic of Azerbaijan with various subjects of the Russian Federation, including the Astrakhan region, was noted. The presence of good potential for increasing mutual activity in the economic and trade sphere and the investment sector, expanding cooperation in the transport-logistics, cultural-humanitarian, and educational spheres was emphasized. The construction of a kindergarten in the Gubadli district of the Astrakhan region was noted. During the conversation, special attention was paid to the development of the “North-South” international transport corridor, as well as the problem of shallowing of the Caspian Sea.
