Mine explosion injures a demining worker in Aghdere

A mine incident occurred on January 11, 2026, in the territory of the liberated village of Giziloba in the Aghdere region.

Axar.az informs that the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) reported this.

Karimov Elvin Hamiddin oglu, born in 1988, an employee of a non-governmental organization involved in humanitarian mine clearance operations, was performing his duty when an anti-personnel mine exploded. As a result of the incident, the injured person's right leg was amputated at the ankle.

Karimov Elvin was evacuated to the central hospital of the district. His condition is satisfactory.
