The Iranian Embassy has rejected reports claiming that Iran is planning operations in Azerbaijan.
Axar.az reports that the press service of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Embassy in Baku issued a statement firmly rejecting recent claims made by the military-security structures of the Israeli regime.
These claims alleged that Iran-affiliated forces are planning operations against the interests of that regime on the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The statement said the embassy views such propaganda as an attempt to create division and hostility between the Islamic Republic of Iran and neighboring countries, particularly the Republic of Azerbaijan.
It was also stated that the 12-day military aggression by the Israeli regime in June 2025, and the new wave of attacks that began on February 28, 2026, demonstrate that the regime is determined to expand the conflict into regions surrounding Iran. It added that, to implement this plan, the spread of misinformation and deceptive “false flag” activities are part of its agenda.
The embassy also wrote that suspicious drone attacks against the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, sabotage actions against port and shipping infrastructure in the Caspian Sea, and actions targeting airspace security and economic routes are clear examples of this strategy.
