Azerbaijan is set to increase 2016 defense spending by 21.3% (391 million manats).

This is according to a bill on amendments to the law on Azerbaijan’s 2016 state budget.

For the current year, the bill allocates 2.229 billion manats — 2.114 billion manats for defense forces, 108.895 million manats for national security, 2.422 million manats for researches in the defense and security areas, and 3.022 million manats for uncategorized purposes.

Note that, defense spending for the approved budget 2016 budget had been predicted to be 1.838 billion manats — 1.723 billion manats for defense forces, 108.895 million manats for national security, 2.422 million manats for researches in the defense and security areas, 3.022 million manats for uncategorized purposes.
