Details of the secret agreement regarding Zangezur

There are some preliminary agreements between Armenia and Azerbaijan. At the initial stage, some private international organization should control the line of communication called the corridor.

Axar.az reports that Sergey Melkonyan, an analyst of the "APRI Armenia" analytical center, told the Armenian service of "Azadlig" radio (in English).

"It (Zangazur Corridor) will not be called a corridor, but they understand very well that it will be a corridor in Iran.

First, some international private company will control it (Zangazur Corridor). Then joint supervision will be carried out. Azerbaijan will gradually transfer (ethnic Azerbaijanis) there (i.e. Zangezur) and Iran will lose its border with Armenia," Melkonyan said while commenting on Khamenei's statement about the Zangezur corridor.

Khamenei said in his meeting with Nikol Pashinyan: "The Islamic Republic of Iran considers the Zangezur route to the detriment of Armenia and remains in this position."

Journalist Elbayi Hasanli, who translated and presented the text, noted that Armenian political analysts say that there is a preliminary agreement between the parties on the issue of the Zangezur Corridor:

"By the way, today Mr. Erdogan said that the opening of the Zangezur corridor will be the last step for the positive end of the process."
