Amenia's population could fall drastically

In the next 10 years, Armenia's population may drop from 2.2 million to 800,000.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Nairi Sargsyan, Chairman of the Armenian Audit Chamber.

"If this trend continues, there will be no Armenians left in the country in 25 years," Sargsyan said.

According to him, this is due to low birth rates, emigration, and the consequences of the war in Karabakh.

Sargsyan added that last year, 48,000 people left Armenia and have not returned.
