It has been four years since Ganja city was first subjected to a missile attack by the Armenian Armed Forces during the Second Nagorno-Karabakh War.

Axar.az recalls that on October 4, 2020, around 10 a.m., missiles launched by Armenians struck civilian residential areas in Azerbaijan's second-largest city, including a two-story building and private homes.

This missile attack by Armenia was the first significant strike outside the Nagorno-Karabakh region during the war. As a result of the bombing of Ganja, one civilian, Tunar Aliyev, was killed, and 32 others were injured. In addition to residential buildings, civilian infrastructure and ancient historical monuments were also damaged.

It should be noted that during the Second Nagorno-Karabakh War, Ganja city was attacked five times (on October 4, 5, 8, 11, and 17) by missiles and heavy artillery from the Armenian Armed Forces. As a result, 26 people were killed, 175 were injured, and substantial damage was caused to civilian infrastructure and vehicles in the city.
