No pollutants found in Caspian Sea - Experts

Experts from the ecology department of Mangistau province have checked the presence of chemicals and oil products in the water due to the red color of the Caspian Sea.

Axar.az reports that according to the results of the analysis, no substances polluting the water were detected.

According to Kaysar Nadirbek, the head of the ecology department of Mangistau province, it is algae that give the water a red and dark brown color.

“This phenomenon has become more visible since it snowed. Algae grow in shallow waters, especially in our coastal areas. In places where they accumulate, the water changes color. Although we are aware of this natural phenomenon, we must check the condition of the water,” Kaysar Nadirbek said.

It should be noted that the red color of the Caspian Sea has attracted the attention of residents of the city of Aktau, Kazakhstan.
