The Baku Energy Forum, the Caspian region’s largest event, is currently underway in Baku.
Axar.az informs this year’s forum — part of “Baku Energy Week” — marks its 30th anniversary. Since its launch, the event has become a major platform for strengthening international partnerships, sharing best practices, and signing agreements that shape not only Azerbaijan’s energy sector but the region’s as a whole.
The forum brings together leaders from the energy industry, business community, and government, helping to foster international cooperation in the energy field.
The Baku Energy Forum is supported by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, with the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) serving as the main partner. The event is also backed by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
OPEC Secretary General Haitham Al Ghais sent a welcome letter to the participants of the Baku Energy Forum 2025, emphasizing the forum’s role as an important platform for dialogue and cooperation in the global energy sector.
At the Baku Energy Forum, a plenary session titled “Global Cooperation for a Sustainable and Resilient Energy Future” will be held under the chairmanship of Azerbaijan’s Minister of Energy, Parviz Shahbazov.
As part of the forum, another key session — “Leaders’ Addresses: The Road to a Sustainable Energy Ecosystem” — will feature Rovshan Najaf, President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), as the keynote speaker.
This year’s forum features a broad and multifaceted agenda addressing the key challenges and opportunities in the energy sector.
Main topics include: "Digitalization in Energy: The Power of Data and Technology", "Geological Exploration: Innovative Technologies in Resource Discovery", "Production and Operations: Enhancing Efficiency Through Innovation and Sustainability", "Outcomes of COP29: The Path Toward a Sustainable Future", "Green Energy: Unlocking the Caspian Region’s Potential", "The Gas Market: A New Structure for Producers", "Transporters, and Consumers", "Oil and Gas Pipelines: Ensuring Energy Security Through Reliable Infrastructure". These themes form the core of the forum’s discussions.
The discussions taking place at the forum are crucial for promoting innovation in the energy sector, strengthening regional and global cooperation, and building sustainable, resilient energy systems. The event also serves as an important platform for presenting Azerbaijan’s strategic energy policy priorities and highlighting the Caspian region’s green energy potential to the international community.
As is tradition, Baku Energy Week will include bilateral business meetings (B2B and B2G), providing a platform for representatives of local and international companies to meet face-to-face and explore opportunities for collaboration and future partnerships. Dedicated meeting rooms will be arranged for representatives of various government bodies and international companies. As part of the forum, the sponsor “INTI” will host a seminar titled “INTI Technology Day”, which will be open to all attendees.
