Medal revoked for Turkish athlete in Paris 2024

Turkish athlete Serkan Yıldırım, who won a gold medal at the Paris 2024 Summer Paralympics, had his medal revoked following an objection by the International Paralympic Committee.

Axar.az reports that the Turkish National Paralympic Committee issued a statement on this matter.

It was stated that the reason for this was a complaint filed by the International Paralympic Committee to the court.

It was discovered that S. Yıldırım did not meet the criteria for the competitions and that he did not have any specific limitations.

The Turkish National Paralympic Committee did not accept the revocation of the athlete's medal and has filed a complaint to the court.

It is noted that S. Yıldırım won a gold medal in the 100 meters T12 category.
