The Consulate General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Los Angeles has issued an official statement on the attack of Armenians on our compatriots in this city.

Axar.az reports the Consulate General stated that on July 21, 2020, Armenians surrounded the building of the Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Los Angeles and held a protest action against our country with aggressive and provocative slogans. However, unexpectedly, members of the Azerbaijani community in California confronted hundreds of Armenians and prevented their provocation.

Seeing the growing aggression of the Armenians, the Consulate General immediately contacted the bus companies and began the process of organizing the bus in order to safely remove our compatriots from there. But 15 minutes later, Los Angeles police told community members that they were afraid they would not be able to ensure their safety and began escorting them away. But, unfortunately, the Dashnaks attacked our compatriots and inflicted various injuries on them. As a result, 7 of our compatriots, including one woman, received various injuries. In addition, a police officer trying to protect our compatriot from Armenian violence was injured in the head. Four injured Azerbaijanis were hospitalized. Consul General Nasimi Agayev went to the hospital, met with our injured compatriots and said that all necessary measures were taken to bring Armenian criminals to justice.
