The Moldovan opposition sees that the rights of the Gagauz autonomy of the republic have not been respected for a long time, and Chisinau is taking steps to abolish the autonomy.
Axar.az reports that this was said by Ilan Shor, the leader of the Moldovan opposition "Victory" bloc.
"This is a region whose rights have not been respected for a long time, and today we clearly understand and see that the authorities want to abolish the Gagauz autonomy. It is difficult to say today what steps they will take. Many different legal ways and points can be made. But everything must be done to preserve the existing Gagauz identity. We will do this," he said.
