Erdogan backs UN reform at 80th UNGA

The foundation of the United Nations (UN), which was established so that people would never experience the disaster of war again, is full of values that will shed light on this dark era we are in.

Axar.az reports that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said this during his speech at the high-level debates within the framework of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly at the UN headquarters in New York.

"We fully support the "UN80" initiative launched by Secretary-General Guterres to make our Organization more effective and efficient. I wish this initiative to be successful as a process that will further strengthen all the activities of the UN. We are ready to strongly support this process based on our vision of turning Istanbul into a UN center. It is the common responsibility of all of us to take steps to restore the spirit of the UN on its 80th anniversary. We will not allow the strong to be right, but the right to be strong, until a system is established where the "world is bigger than five!" "We will continue to say. Our task is not to abandon the system, but to reform it, to make it work again. There is no doubt that a fairer world is possible. Turkiye will continue its struggle for the "establishment of a fairer world" with patience and determination," Erdogan added.
