U.S. President Donald Trump is a businessman who aims to make the world buy American oil and liquefied gas at higher prices.
Axar.az reports that Russian Presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated this in an interview with RBC.
“President Trump has never hidden his intention to secure the economic interests of the United States. The simplest way is to make the whole world buy more expensive American oil and more expensive American liquefied gas,” Peskov said.
He noted that Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump have a warm relationship and speak on a first-name basis, but each defends the interests of their own country.
“In general, they speak informally. They have known each other for a long time. And indeed, they treat each other with respect and warmth,” Peskov said.
He added that this does not prevent Putin and Trump from discussing sensitive topics.
“The relationship between the two presidents allows them to discuss quite sensitive topics, including the issue of Ukrainian regulation, and to convey to each other the main messages that help understand each country’s position and the reasons behind it."
“So far, we see that Trump continues to demonstrate political will to participate in the process of its regulation. We welcome this, and President Putin personally values it very highly,” Peskov noted.
