Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has declared the need to end the conflict in Ukraine.
Axar.az reports that Lukashenko said this in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin after he met with Vladimir Putin.
“I think it’s time for us to start consultations. I said it at the beginning of the “special military operation”: we, the leaders of three Slavic states, must sit down and agree. We must agree on ending this incomprehensible war. We need to agree. If we don’t agree, it will be bad for everyone,” Lukashenko said.
He also warned of the risk of “losing all of Ukraine” for Kyiv and noted that Zelensky should agree to the “favorable conditions” discussed in the latest peace initiatives. According to Lukashenko, these proposals were even presented to US President Donald Trump during a meeting in Alaska.
Lukashenko added that if Kyiv had agreed to a “cease fire” at the beginning of the Russian operation, then all of eastern Ukraine, except Crimea, would have remained under Kyiv’s control. Now, he believes, the chances of preventing the loss of the entire country are diminishing.
The Belarusian leader also said that he and Putin had listened to a report from the Russian General Staff on the army’s progress, and that, according to him, “it will be difficult to stop.”
