Hamas said on Tuesday that it would study US President Donald Trump's peace proposal before making any public statements.

Axar.az informs, citing DW, the Islamist group added that discussions would take place within the organization as well as with other Palestinian factions.

On Monday, Hamas leadership assured Qatar's prime minister that it would "review the plan in good faith." Qatar has been a key mediator in talks with Israel and the US on a ceasefire in Gaza.

Trump's proposed deal would require Hamas to disarm as well as exclude the group from power in the future.

Hamas has not indicated when it will provide a public response.

Appearing alongside Trump in Washington on Monday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned that "Israel will finish the job by itself" should Hamas fail to agree to the proposal’s terms. Trump said Israel would have the US's full backing in such an endeavor.
