Cairo starts major shelter project for northern Gaza refugees

Egypt has begun constructing the largest camp for displaced people from the northern Gaza Strip.

Axar.az reports that dozens of bulldozers have been deployed in the Nuseirat area near the Bureij camp to build temporary camps and shelters, clear debris, and clean roads. Egypt is also preparing to hand over other refugee camps it has built to Gazans.

It is reported that negotiations between Hamas and Israeli delegations will be held on October 6 in Egypt’s Sharm el-Sheikh. Delegations from both sides, as well as U.S. presidential representatives Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, have arrived in Egypt to participate. The parties will attempt to reach an agreement on creating suitable conditions for the exchange of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners, preparing initial lists of those to be released, and determining the technical details of the exchange process. At the same time, discussions will include ending the war, ensuring lasting peace, and Israel’s withdrawal from settlements in Gaza.
