However, geopolitically minded powers, including the US, China and Russia, demand specific concessions or guarantees of interest from the other party in exchange for assistance and support. The EU should also adopt this approach in the future.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by the High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas.

“If Laos, which receives financial assistance from the EU, plans to send troops to support Russia in the war against Ukraine, then the European Union should clearly state that there will be consequences for this decision,” Kallas noted.
