Afghanistan restricts access to social media

Access to social networks "Instagram", "Facebook", and "Snapchat" has been restricted in Afghanistan.

Axar.az reports that this was reported by the "NetBlocks" internet monitoring service.

"In Afghanistan, the social networks "Instagram", "Facebook', and "Snapchat" have been restricted by several providers. The incident occurred after the Internet was cut off last week," the report said.

Earlier, "NetBlocks" reported a complete Internet shutdown in Afghanistan against the backdrop of measures taken by the Taliban to protect morality.

Information about the restoration of the Internet spread a few hours after the ruling "Taliban" movement denied the imposition of a nationwide ban and stated that the outage was caused by outdated infrastructure.
